First iPhone 4S Benchmarks Show Significant Performance Gains
Early AnandTech benchmarks for the Apple iPhone 4S are already here, showing the new device’s SunSpider and Geekbench scores. The Apple iPhone 4S gets a Geekbench score of 623,and a SunSpider score of 13580.
The Apple iPhone 4S’s Geekbench score of 622 places it vastly above the Apple iPhone 4 (370), but below the iPad 2 (751). This represents a 68% performance increase over the Apple iPhone 4. The decrease in performance from the iPad 2 is due to the fact that the Apple iPhone 4 is underclocked to 800mhz, likely to reduce heat and improve battery life.
The SunSpider benchmarks also show that the Apple iPhone 4S has significant increased performance over the Apple iPhone 4, achieving a score that nearly doubles that of its predecessor.
If nothing else, AnandTech’s results clearly demonstrate that the Apple iPhone 4S will bring us some pretty exciting improvements in performance, and I for one can’t wait to experience this in person.
